A Whole New World

Last week when my brother was visiting, we went to Bass Pro Shops. This opened a whole new world of shopping and decorating for me. I am now thinking of redoing my kitchen and living room. I just need a little help picking what I like since there are so many great choices.
So do I go with~~

These lovely camouflage dishes~

~OR~
These great ones with a picture of a deer?
I am also excited about this camo crock pot!!

Moving on to the living room~

Look at my lovely new coach and chair.
Do I go with this recliner~or~
This one?
Please note the curtain and blind display behind the chair. There is just no end to the possibilities here. They also had great bedroom outfits, but that will have to wait until my budget allows. So Ladies, you can see that I have a lot of choices, and I hate making decisions so I could use your input. Thanks for your help:-)

Living My Dream and Feeling So Blessed

Today as I was making a meal for a friend who just had a baby, my husband came in the kitchen and ask me if everything was OK. I told him that I was living my dream. When I was in college, a professor had us write an essay about what we wanted to be doing in 10 years. Well it's been a "little" more than ten years and I have no idea where that essay is, but I remember what I wrote. I said that in 10 years that I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, and make meals and do things for people in need. I guess the reason, I said it, was because of my Mother's example. If someone was sick or had just moved my Mother would take in a meal. In the last 4 days I have~ made Banana Bread (thanks for the recipe Heather) for some neighbors who just moved in~made dessert for some friends going through a tough time~and made dinner for my friend who had a baby.
We were married for seven years before becoming parents, but I always knew that someday I would be a Mommy. Now here I sit with 4 great kids, a wonderful husband, living my dream, and feeling blessed beyond measure.
These last few days I have been overwhelmed with the blessing the Lord has given us, but have been hesitant to blog about it because I do not want to come across as boasting. We went through some really tough times in 2004 and 2005, but God was so faithful to carry us through those times. Two years ago Tim fell at work and the course of our lives was changed forever. There were times of uncertainty and worry, times of questioning why this had to happen to us. What would we do for a living? how would we make it? I am here to tell you that God always takes care of his children. To make a long story short, Tim had a disability insurance policy through his work. They are paying Tim while he goes to school. Tim said many times that he wanted to change careers and maybe go to school. Now he is getting paid while going to school full time. God is abundantly supplying our needs. I do not want to take Gods blessing for granted, but want to do my part in passing blessings on to others.
Sometimes people say "God is so faithful" when things are going well. I can tell you that God is faithful all the time. He knows the paths that He has for us. When we are in the middle of the storm it is not aways easy to understand what God is trying to do, but when you get on the other side, it is so great to see how he lead you through.

Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory

Last Tuesday and Wednesday we had a visit from my brother and his family. It was great to have them visiting us. They let us tag along on part of their vacation. Tuesday was the Creation Museum, and Wednesday we went to the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. We toured the factory and at the end of the tour we all got a miniature souvenir bat. In the waiting area for the tours they have a baseball diamond with stature players and a back drop of a ball park. The pictures of the kids "playing" ball were taken in this area. The first Louisville Slugger bat was made in 1884. They now make about 2,500 bats a day.

This weekend we were blessed with a visit from Tim's cousin Sherilyn and her family. They live in Florida, so we do not get to see them very often. We are so glad that they make a stop to see us twice a year on their way to see the rest of their family. Tim and Sherilyn are two months apart in age and they both turned forty this year. Since we were all together Tim's mom had a party for them on Sunday. Tim and Sherilyn~cousins and good friends

On Monday night we had the whole gang at our house for dinner. We had a great time and after dinner the kids, Doyle and Tim play ball in our back yard. Our kids love playing ball and loved having more kids here to make it more like a real game.

On Tuesday we went to the Creation Museum. I highly recommend it. It is very well done. Very educational but yet fun enough that my five year old has already ask to go back. If you plan on going, take a picnic lunch, they have beautiful garden and picnic area. My battery on my camera went dead so I did not get some of the outside pictures and family and group pictures. My S-I-L Kelly got some good group pictures so check her site for those:)~~click on the picture below for pictures of The Creation Museum.
